It has been my privilege to work with Mike Thornborrow on many occasions since 2009, when he first came to Lunenburg County to serve the community in the funeral services industry. I served in the same community as a minister for more than 27 years, and we shared many funerals and celebrations of life services together during that time. It was always reassuring and personally comforting to me to be able to team with Mike when called upon at this critical time in a grieving family’s lives and journey. My father had a terminal illness and was therefore able to plan much of what he wanted before he passed. Mike was there at Dad’s home making the plans with him and organizing as much as they could before my father’s time came. The first person I called from the hospital when my dad died was Mike. He cried with me, and told me it would be ok. I met with Mike later that same day for a brief consult and from that moment on, I did not worry about a single thing. I knew that Mike would handle everything. Mike picked Dad up from the hospital, arranged for his cremation, organized the church service and his celebration of life. Everything went so smoothly without one hiccup. Mike was professional, respectful, efficient and above all else, kind. I knew Mike cared about my father and about us as we were going through one of the worst times of our lives. I will be forever grateful for Mike and all that he did for our family.
