It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Anthony Michael Brunt, who died on August 5, 2026, at the age of 71. Anthony died with his wife, Brenda, and his two children by his side. He is predeceased by his beloved mother, Iris Brunt, father George Brunt and brother Ricky Brunt.

Anthony was born on May 10, 1955, in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He was a devoted husband to Brenda, a loving father to Nicholas Brunt and Rebecca and her husband, Jason Zieber, and a proud grandfather to Thom, Lucy, Paige, and Emma.

Anthony’s working life followed a path very much his own. He began his career as a machinist before returning to school in his late thirties to study law. He went on to build a successful legal career, taking particular pride in helping people through difficult circumstances and using his work to make a meaningful difference in their lives.

After retiring from law, Anthony began another chapter in Walton, Nova Scotia, a place he loved deeply. For ten years, he ran a golf course with his wife there while making Walton his home. He loved the community, the landscape and the ocean, and Walton became an important part of the life they built.

Music was a constant throughout Anthony’s life. A musician and drummer, he had a deep love of music and the joy that came with playing it, listening to it and sharing it with others. He passed while listening to Bobcaygeon, a song and band that was a constant in his life.

Anthony worked tirelessly for his family and created an incredibly supportive home for his children. Nicholas and Rebecca always knew that their father was in their corner. He was generous with his time, his effort and his support, and took enormous pride in the lives and families his children went on to build.

He was funny, warm, and happiest when he was enjoying himself with the people he loved. For all the different chapters of his life, that simple pleasure remained at the centre of it.

Anthony’s life cannot be summed up simply by dates, careers or accomplishments. He will be remembered in the people he supported, the music he loved, the life he built with Brenda and his family, and the many stories that will continue to be told about him.
