With profound sadness, the family of Carole Ann Page, 79, of Upper LaHave, NS, formerly of Muskoka, ON, announces her peaceful passing at home, surrounded by the deep love of her family.
Born in Paddington, England, Carole was a cherished daughter of the late William James and Ivy May (Ross) Dorsett.
Carole had an incredible gift for creation and spent her early career as a highly skilled seamstress, capable of crafting almost any garment imaginable, including exquisite matching outfits for special occasions she shared with her husband, Russell. Her passion for helping others led her to an occupation she truly loved—working as a teaching assistant with children with special needs for many years. Later, Carole partnered with Russell, managing local pubs in England.
In 1995, Carole and Russell began a new chapter in Canada, settling in Muskoka, Ontario. She supervised the housekeeping crew at the Bangor Lodge in Bracebridge before once again working alongside Russell, building decks, docks, and various construction projects throughout the area. In 2020, they fulfilled a dream by retiring to Nova Scotia to be near their daughter, Sarah, where they continued to tackle home renovation projects on their new home with enthusiasm.
Carole will be remembered as an incredibly caring, wise, and fun-loving person with an amazing sense of artistic creativity. A true high school sweetheart, she and Russell built a beautiful life and family together, of whom she was immensely proud.
Carole leaves behind her devoted husband, Russell; loving daughters, Sarah (Tyrone) Fitzmorris, Bridgewater, and Melanie (Steve) Palmer, Worthing, England; and her much-loved grandchildren: Sam, Brooke, and Tess Williams, Page and Maggie Beynon, and Elisha Sophia, Charlotte Pearl Palmer and Reece Russell Page. She was also a proud great-grandmother to Toby and Amera. She is survived by her sister, Ivy Grimsby of Portsmouth, England, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Carole was predeceased by her parents; her son, Russell Jr.; daughter, Deborah; brother, William James Dorsett; and sisters, June Tavinor and Jill Canham.
In keeping with Carole’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and no public memorial service will be held. Arrangements have been entrusted to Personal Care Cremations & Memorial Services.
The family kindly requests that those wishing to honor Carole’s memory consider a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.

We are so saddened to hear of the passing of the beautiful Carole. Carole touched the hearts of everyone she met. Her kind soul and beautiful smile and laughter will be missed by us all. We missed Carole so much when she left Muskoka. I will always remember our final farewell here in Muskoka as a fun and very memorable evening. Rest in peace my friend 🧡
