It is with a deep sense of loss that the family of Clifton Roger Boutilier, 88, of Mill Cove, share the news of his passing on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at the Q.E. II Health Sciences Centre in Halifax with his family by his side.

Clifton was born in Mill Cove and was the son of the late Winton and Pauline (Jennings) Boutilier.

Clifton spent his working career as a transmission mechanic in the Mill Cove area up until he retired. A man of many talents, both industrial and musical, he built several steel guitars as well as played proficiently with local bands over the years. He was also an avid fisherman in his spare time and enjoyed the outdoors. He was also immensely proud of his large family and took pride in all their accomplishments over the years.

Clifton will be greatly missed by his wife of 58 years, Carol Boivin; children, Dale (Susan) Boutilier, Dartmouth, Jody (Matthew Young) Coolen, Fox Point, Jamie (Crystal) Boutilier, Hubbards; grandchildren, Brandi Boutilier, Dylan, Austin, Cameron Coolen, Nicholas and Alex Boutilier; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Shirley Harnish, Mill Cove, Bev (Dennis Levy), Mill Cove, step-daughters, Carol (Brent Macinnis) Goodridge, Mill Cove, Christine Goodridge, Halifax, Darlene (Marek Sobczyk) Goodridge, Mill Cove; step granddaughter, Candice Rennie, as well as several nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Clifton’s wishes cremation has taken place and there is to be no public memorial service. Arrangements entrusted to Personal Care Cremations.

For those wishing, donations in Clifton’s memory made to the SHAID Tree Animal Shelter or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
