The family of Corilee G. Fox, 59, of Halifax, announces with heavy hearts her passing on Thursday, April 16, 2026. Corilee passed away at the Halifax Infirmary, enveloped in the love of the family she cherished so deeply. She was the daughter of Marianne Fox and the late Alvin Fox.
Corilee was a woman of profound spirituality and immense kindness. She dedicated her recent years to helping others navigate the shadows of past trauma, guiding them toward healing with a compassionate heart. Her ability to connect with people from all walks of life turned strangers into lifelong friends.
An adventurer at heart, Corilee found her peace in the outdoors. Whether she was paddling, hiking, or tending to her abundant gardens, she was most at home in nature. Her house was a sanctuary of greenery, reflecting the same nurturing spirit she gave to her family. She was her children’s greatest advocate and took immense pride in every milestone they reached.
She is survived by her loving husband, Jason MacNeil; her beloved sons, Angus and Leo; her mother, Marianne; and her brothers, Kent (Audree), Roland (Terra), and Jonathan (Michelle), along with many dear nieces and nephews. Corilee made her way across Canada from the West Coast to the East, where she was welcomed and cherished by Jason’s parents, brothers and their families.
In accordance with Corilee’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, July 4th at 11AM in her garden at 63 Forest Hill Drive in Halifax. Arrangements are entrusted to Personal Care Cremations & Memorial Services.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations made in her memory to the Bide Awhile Animal Shelter or your local Food Bank.

A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, July 4th at 11 AM in her garden at 63 Forest Hill Drive in Halifax. Attendees are welcome to arrive anytime after 10:30. Please note parking is limited and the hill is steep.FAVOURITE CAUSES

We were saddened to hear about Corilee’s passing. Our thoughts are with you all. We spent time together hosting birthday parties when our boys were small. It was good to get to know you all at the time.

Sending love and condolences to Jason, Angus and Leo as you mourn the passing of Corilee,
I knew Corilee back in her Toronto days, as a young woman finding her way east to the ocean and to you all eventually. We recently reconnected after a number of years and I was so enjoying discovering her new areas of particular interest, and hearing about the family. Twice recently we visited in person while I was in Halifax in the summers but we chatted very often virtually. We had a magical day at Crystal Beach last year with mutual friends that I will always remember. Her love of baking for her tribe, the science fiction novels we both enjoyed reading, hearing about the deer in the backyard and her garden. I will carry these memories with me.
I know your family memories are as enormous as the sky is and I hope that they bring you peace in this hard time of loss.

I wanted to share my condolences and let you know how deeply saddened I am to hear of Corilee’s passing. I knew her in elementary school — we met in Grade 3 — and I have such warm memories of us growing up together.
She was always such a smart, energetic, and happy person, and her kindness stayed with me over the years. Even as children, she had a light about her that made people feel welcome and included.

To Friends and Family of Corilee my sincerest and deepest sympathy for your loss. I worked alongside Corilee for 10 years at Salesforce having started at the same time as her. She was a bright, caring individual who took a genuine interest in others and cared about them. I wish you all the best in this time of grief.

I knew Corilee, or Cor, or Cfox, at SFU and then in Toronto. We were in occasional touch after that, and she was always smart, generous, adventurous, and so so funny. I send all my condolences to her family, who she loved so much.
My sincerest and heart felt condolences to the entire family of Corilee. I met her in one of my work places many, many years ago (40+). She was always willing to help others with a genuine, honest personality. I later took a few yoga classes with her which lead me to a path of much more healing.

Tara, David, and I miss and love you Cor; one of the kindest people I’ve ever known. All our Chicklette weekends are my fondest memories of our great times. You helped me at AOL when news came of my Dad’s passing and again you helped me when my son Jason passed. To Jason and the boys we are sending our love and support And Jason I still remember the time in the closet where you and I talked of your love for Cor. 🙂 so many fond memories. My friend. I had the privilege of playing in clay alongside Corilee a few years ago during a workshop we collaborated on where we created Chicken Pots together. It was more than just a creative gathering—Corilee shared a beautiful and courageous talk about facing our fears and setting intentions to move through them with strength and grace. Her words stayed with me. She had a rare way of opening hearts and creating a space where people felt safe, seen, and inspired.
I often think of that day, and how she encouraged us to meet our fears with courage. It feels like such a reflection of how she lived her life—with openness, compassion, and a deep trust in the healing journey.
Please know that she made a lasting impression on me, and I will carry that memory forward with gratitude.

Jason, I met you with Corilee once when you came to my place to pick up homemade soaps.
Over the last few years I got to know the force named Corilee Fox. Her kindness and upbeat spirit was infectious and truly genuine. I came to enjoy a few great hikes with her and definitely the chats.
Sadly we shared a health journey but I was very happy to give her what advice I could from my experiences.
Her spirit will live on and her work in helping us here left on earth will live on. A new Angel crossed over to do her best work over there. She watches over you all and I’m certain she will never be more than a good memory away.

Corilee was a very special woman to everyone, she always found a positive side in everything that was put upon her. Her smile was contagious along with her personality. Jason, Angus and Leo she will always be with you. She was so proud of you all.

Corilee was the kind of person who loved to make memories with the people she cared about. She didn’t just make a date with you, she really showed up. Corilee was present with us in body, mind and spirit because she cared. I felt her skillful listening, I felt seen and heard. She was a good friend. Corilee extended this quality of friendship to many people in her life, I know because I heard the names and adventures she shared with friends and family near and far. She did not shy away from the illness, hard times or tough conversations of others. Corilee included it all for her own growth and well being and for that of others. She offered her best and wished the best for everyone. Nowhere was this more true than for her immediate family of Jay, Angus and Leo. Words cannot capture the quality of love she felt for you guys. Her dedication was impressive. She also held respect for each of you and your individuality. She trusted you to do your best and find your way on this challenging journey of life. The challenge is greater now but her love and belief in you will always be there.
