In loving memory of David Ivar Farmer
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a husband, father and grandfather on the morning of June 17, 2025, at the age of 74 ½ at South Shore regional Hospital, Bridgewater.
David was born on August 10, 1950, in Liverpool, Queens County to the late Lloyd and Lillian (Olmstead) Farmer.
David worked for 26 years as an accountant for Superior Propane in Hebbville. He also had his own little BBQ business selling barbeques and barbeque supplies. He also did various jobs over the years.
He was witty and could be very funny at times. David loved country music and old time Rock and Roll. He also acted as a DJ at a few dances.
Preceded in death by his parents Lloyd and Lillian, infant sister Josephine, brothers Herbert (Jan. 2023) and Lloyd (July 2023).
He is survived by his wife of 52 years Rhoda (Lantz), children Tammy (James) Wilson, Amanda Frost, his grandchildren Naomi, Emerson and Zachary and sister Marlene (Bob) Kennedy; as well as many nephews and nieces and special friends. And lastly, we can’t leave out Ally as he loved her as if she was his puppy.
The family would like to give special thanks to the paramedics, especially Alex; the palliative care team, Connie, and Dr. Patricia Caldeira (couldn’t have done it without them), Dr. DuToit, the nurses on the third floor, especially Melissa, and Makayla, Reverend Barbara Fuller, and Michael Thornborrow.
There will be a service for David in August on a day yet to be decided at the Northwest Baptist Church, Northwest.
Donations in memory of David can be made to the SHAID Tree Animal Shelter, South Shore Hospice Palliative Care Society, Northwest Baptist Church or a charity of your choice.

Just learn this morning of David’s passing. He was a good friend while we worked at Superior. We had lots of laughs and good memories. Take care.

Dearest Family
I am sending a Big Tight Hug to all of you. The strength and purpose you extended to David during his decline is needed again as you continue your life without him. Both are difficult challenges, but very doable. You all showed your abilities of love and compassion for him and now you must show them to each other.

I am totally shocked by David’s passing. We went to Centre school and we’re in many classes together. I remember David from his time at Superior Propane. My deepest sympathy to all his family.
