In loving memory of
Dianna Barbara Crouse
It is with great sadness the family of Dianna Barbara Crouse, 76 of First South; announces her passing at home on Tuesday, September 8,2026. Dianna was born in Bridgewater on January 24,1950; and was the daughter of the late Doris (Crouse) and Harold Wentzell of Riverport.
Dianna had many great memories of her early years, living in Riverport and of her visits to Hebbville to see her grandmother, and other family members. Growing up, Dianna enjoyed playing sports, she spent many summer days at the Rose Bay Beach with friends and was a member of the Rose Bay Presbyterian Church. She seldom missed Canada Day celebrations in Riverport, where she enjoyed watching the parade, then she and her sister would go for a tour around the community and completed the tradition with her favorite meal of “Fish and Chips”. Even though she moved away, her heart always remained in Riverport. She often reminisced about home, wishing that someday she would return.
Dianna was always known to be a hard worker, at the age of 16, she went to work at Riverport Seafoods and then later switched to National Sea Products in Lunenburg. Dianna was given an opportunity to attend Nova Scotia Community College to upgrade and further her education in her mid forties. After receiving her GED, she then graduated from the Personal Care Worker program. Dianna then proceeded to work another 19 years at Harbour View Haven caring for seniors. Dianna’s compassionate and kind heart left a lasting impression on everyone she met; she took great pride in the care she provided; and was often acknowledged for her hard work and dedication over the years. Because of Dianna’s true passion working with seniors; she continued to provide private care in the community, right up until her passing. Dianna found work to be enjoyable, and it often felt like being part of an extended family. Besides caregiving, she was well known for her “green thumb” and love of gardening. Dianna would often sit on her deck admiring her flowers throughout the summer months. She enjoyed visits from friends and family. Dianna always greeted you at the door with her welcoming smile and excitement to have company. Once she discovered the world of “texting”, she gave regular updates whether her friend Lori visited or about Nolan’s hockey/soccer or Lydia’s dancing competitions. She took great pleasure in telling everyone about their awards and accomplishments; and how they were great kids. Dianna was truly a proud grandmother and loved them very much.
Dianna sadly leaves behind her loving daughter and greatest support Daria (Ryan) Green, Back Centre, grandchildren Nolan and Lydia and her grand-pups (Willow and Luna). Sisters Judith (Ralph) Massey, Kraut Point, Angela Wentzell, Riverport, and brother Clarence “Bubby” Wentzell, Riverport, niece and nephews (Amanda, Derek and Todd Massey), James (Viola) Green, Lunenburg and her close friend Lori Smith. Special thanks to the Smith Family for all their caring and support.
In keeping with Dianna’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no public service. Arrangements have been entrusted to Personal Care Cremations & Memorial Services.
Special thanks to Dr Allen and her nurse Emily, at the Cancer Care Center. Any donations may be made to the QEII Cancer Center, Halifax.

I was very sad to hear of Diana’s passing. It seems like I saw her at the Independent not long ago. She would always stop for a chat and a chuckle. No one was prouder of her family than she was. Daria and family,
Dianna always made me laugh or I would give her a glance when I understood her sarcasm and everyone else was oblivious. She was a wonderful soul and I saw her “light” with Ben and Roxie. Especially Ben. They seemed to have their own laguage.
I am fortunate to have known Dianna. I only wish we would have met sooner. We may have caused some trouble.
Rest easy my friend.
My deepest condolences to your family. Dianna was such a lovely person and she will be greatly missed. I always enjoyed speaking with her when I would visit my grandparents and I know they are truly grateful for everything she did for them. ❤️
Sincerely,
Natasha Langille

Daria, Ryan, Nolan, and Lydia,
Words cannot express how sad I feel for your loss. Dianna was a bright light wherever she was. She had a huge, kind heart and always was looking out for other people. I felt that she was an angel who was sent to help our family, and I could not have asked for a better person to care for Mom and Dad. She treated them like her own parents. Her laughter, kindness, warmth, and delicious meals will all be so hugely missed. Each time I say “every day is a new day” I will think of Dianna, starting her new day in heaven. I know she is looking down on all of you with love.
