It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden and tragic passing of Jacob “Jake” Michael Corkum on July 11, 2026, just eight days before his 18th birthday. Born on July 19, 2008, Jake’s life was far too short, but the love he shared and the memories he created will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Jake is lovingly remembered by his parents, Michael Corkum (Sally) and Jennifer Latham (John); his siblings, Kimberley Bruhm, Dakota Latham, Shane Bruhm, and Jessica Corkum; his grandparents, Wade and Judy Corkum, and Wanda Latham; his aunts, Tina Corkum and Angela Corkum-Pitman (Adam) ; his uncles, Scott Latham and David Latham; his nieces, Avah Corkum, Makenna Patterson, and Jaelynn Latham; and his nephews, Jayce Joudrey, Andre Corkum, Kian Latham, Cayden Latham, and Bennett Bruhm. He is also lovingly remembered by his many cousins, extended family members, and countless friends.
Jake was predeceased by his grandparents, Ronald and Shirley Lepage.
Jake will be remembered for his kind heart, gentle spirit, and the unconditional love he had for his family and friends. He never took a goodbye for granted, always making sure to leave with a hug and an “I love you.” Jake shared a special bond with animals, and they seemed to be naturally drawn to his gentle nature. His compassionate heart was especially evident in the love he had for his dogs, Bryder and Baxter, who brought him so much happiness. He also found great joy in volunteering at Shaid Tree Animal Shelter, where he loved caring for the animals and lending a helping hand whenever he could.
An avid online gamer, Jake formed many lasting friendships with people from across Canada and around the world. Through gaming, he built meaningful connections that extended far beyond the screen. His kindness, sense of humour, loyalty, and ability to make others laugh left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Although Jake’s life was far too short, his compassion, laughter, and gentle spirit will never be forgotten. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.
Jake will be deeply loved, forever missed, and lovingly remembered.

A Memorial Service for Jake will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. from the Pleasantville Baptist Church in Pleasantville. Reverend Gregory Bland officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasantville Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Personal Care Cremations & Memorial Services.
Donations in Jake’s memory to the SHAID Tree Animal Shelter would be appreciated by his family.

The thing I remember about Jake is was down to play the game and he was like the little brother I never wanted but somehow he became like my brother and me and him was planning on meeting each other because we grew so close he started to call me his brother from a another brother I watched him grow up I met him when he was 14 years old and we always talked and played the game I always thought he would be here to see me get married and he would of made the best best man I and know I am lost without him calling me all the time and I remember when he always wanted me I will always remember him forever and I miss him so much I hope to see you one day little bro you were taken way too soon from us and and your family and friends
