It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Jeffery Raymond Lohnes of Pinegrove beloved life partner, father, brother and son, who left us on June 17, 2025, at the age of 63 surrounded by his loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Raymond Lohnes and brother Donny Lohnes.
Through their construction company, Lohnes Construction, Jeff and his father built many family homes throughout Lunenburg County. He took pride in constructing the perfect home for new families.
He was a man of immense humor and wisdom, cherishing every moment spent with his loved ones. His love of travelling to Mexico with family, droning with his son, and his unwavering spirit will forever be remembered.
He is survived by his mother, Jeanne Rhodenizer, wife, Sherri Smith, brother, Danny Lohnes, daughter Melinda Gallant and son, Cat Lohnes, who will continue to honour his legacy by living their lives to the fullest.
To celebrate Jeff’s remarkable life, we are gathering on June 28, 2025 (1:00pm) at the Best Western Plus Bridgewater, Hotel and Convention Centre, Cookville. In lieu of traditional mourning, we request the joy of your company.

I am so sad and sorry to hear of Jeff’s passing. I am thinking of you all and sending you my Love, Hugs and Sincerest Condolences, Take care and think of all the special memories.
My sincere condolences to Jeff’s family. I will always remember how hard and long that golf ball soared at Olde Town golf course. It was never usually straight but we were always amazed. You will be missed but never forgotten.
I am so sorry for your loss. Jeff was a great guy and the music is definitely fitting for him. Jeff is now reunited with his buddies from the late 70’s – early 80’s, Jeff Crawshaw and Jeff Chandler. We used to call Jeff “LOHNES” back in the day, 3 Jeff’s made it hard to distinguish who you were talking too. I’m going to miss seeing Jeff out town with his long flowing locks a definite trait. Another good guy gone to soon.
