Joan Elizabeth Veinotte
The family of Joan Elizabeth Veinotte (White), 80, of Lunenburg, announce with broken hearts her passing on November 2, 2025.
Born in Halifax, March 11, 1945, Joan is the daughter of the late John (Jack) Earle White and Annie Pearle White (Teed).
She is survived by her husband, John David Veinotte, daughter Jane Mullen (Jason), grandchildren, Evan and Elijah Veinotte, Joshua and Julia Mullen, siblings, Charles White, Robert White and Beverly McKenzie (White), mother in-law Grace Veinotte.
Joan is predeceased by her beloved son, Josh Veinotte.
Joan lived a full life surrounded by family and friends. She trained and worked as an operating room nurse early in her career and filled countless volunteer roles throughout her life always giving back to her community. Joan was always a strong, positive anchor for her family and she cherished spending time with them having frequent family gatherings. She also enjoyed spending time with friends, especially the monthly dinners with the supper club gang, and annual trips with the Fast Lane Ladies. She loved being active, being on the ocean sailing, and any chance she could get to read a good book. She was kind, generous and always first person up for anything saying, “c’mon let’s go!”. What an example she is of how life should be lived. Joan was, and always will be, the heart of our family.
A family celebration of life will be held at a later date. Burial will be at the family plot in Upper Blue Rocks Cemetery, Nova Scotia. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Lunenburg Food Bank.

I can hear her say “C’mon, let’s go!” Joan was always so warm and enthusiastically kind to everyone. Always ready to laugh. Always ready to jump in and have some fun. She had such a bright and loving energy. Our condolences to all of you who loved and knew her best.
