With a deep sense of loss, the family of Linda Rose Kenney, 66, announces her passing on Friday, September 26, 2025, at South Shore Regional Hospital in Bridgewater.
Born in Lunenburg, Linda was the cherished daughter of the late Russell and Pauline (Croft) Wentzell.
Linda was well-known throughout the area for her career as a dedicated hairstylist. After graduating from vocational school, she worked in several Lunenburg salons before lending her skills to the residents of Mahone Nursing Home in Mahone Bay, and later serving many of her loyal clients as a freelance hairdresser.
She and her husband, Gerald, shared a love for dancing and camping, with Keji (Kejimkujik National Park) being one of their favorite destinations. Linda also enjoyed collecting sea glass with Gerald and their two daughters, often on Westhaver Beach and playing radio bingo every Wednesday evening, never missing a game. In her quiet time, she loved reading, knitting, cooking, baking and tending to her beautiful gardens and flower beds. Her tremendous love for animals was evident in the reliable care and food she provided, not only for her own pets but often for others.
Linda was a woman of great kindness, generosity, love and remarkable strength. Those who had the privilege of knowing her quickly recognized these qualities and felt the warmth of her presence. Whether with family, cherished clients or friends, she consistently placed the needs of others before her own, even as she faced her long and courageous battle with cancer. Her influence touched many lives, leaving an enduring legacy. She will be remembered with deep love, respect and gratitude by all who knew her.
Linda leaves behind her beloved husband, Gerald; her daughters, Jillian (Mike Davis) of Bridgewater, and Sarah (Benjamin) Frauzel of Lower Branch. She is also survived by her brothers, Clinton (Debbie) Wentzell, Arnie Wentzell, and Eric (Marsha Veinott) Wentzell; her sisters, Claire Billard and Gail (David) Wile; and her half-sister, Susan Baker, along with many cherished nieces and nephews. Linda will also be deeply missed by her fur baby, Abby, and her grand-furbabies: Skyler, Loki, Sigyn, Fennec, Gizmo, Ella, and Barnaby, and now reunited with Brutus.
A private graveside service will be held at Sunny Valley Cemetery, Centre, at a later date. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Personal Care Cremations & Memorial Services.
Donations made in Linda’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

I was shocked, and saddened, to learn of your Mom’s passing. I haven’t seen her in years, but we kept in touch on FB. She was a wonderful lady, and I know that she will be greatly missed. My thoughts, and prayers, are with you, your sister, and your Dad, through this sad time in your lives.

I was saddened to read of Linda’s passing! There wasn’t a week that went by that she didn’t do my hair while at Brenda’s Beauty Boutique. I knew her even before she had her girls. She was a beautiful soul! Her struggle is finally over but she lived longer than expected and found a hard battle! My condolences to her family! She will be truly missed!
