Marion Frances Shannon
It is with sorrow we announce the passing, of Marion Shannon, on June 2nd, 2025. Always organized, Marion authored her own obituary prior to her death.
“I was born on August 8, 1949, to my wonderful parents, father, Eustace, a first WW1 Vimy Ridge wounded survivor, and mother, Helen Peters. I had a very enjoyable childhood growing up in the old family homestead on Brier Island and enjoying all an island can offer. I had three siblings, Neil, Carol, and Janet. I am survived by one son, Scott.
I attended nursing at the Victoria General Hospital and graduated in 1972 with a nursing diploma and worked for several years as an RN and more as a successful realtor.
I was predeceased by my parents, brother, Neil, and my dear sister, Janet. I am also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place, and at my request, there will be no funeral service and memorial. Instead, do a kind deed for someone and think of me.

Dear Marion family:
I had the greatest pleasure to be in Marion’s nursing class and her next door roommate.
I can still her voice and her funny comments.
She was there when I left nursing and started the realtor course. She and her good realtor friend groomed me for the final and without her assistance, I would not have passed with a great mark and only one of two in the exam testing – a full auditorium at all stages of writing 1st, 2nd 3rd etc.
Marion, was always there for you as I can attest.
