It is with great sadness that the family of Paula Christine Cook (Crouse), of Dayspring, announces her
passing on October 22, 2025, at the age of 61.
Born to Richard Crouse and Edith Crouse (Hirtle) on January 24, 1964, Paula leaves behind
her beloved daughters Nicole Cook (Andy Smith), Melissa Cook (Matt VanWychen), Christine
Cook, and Brittany Cook, along with their father Vernon Cook (Christine McCarthy).
Paula will be lovingly remembered by her cherished grandchildren: Quinn and Dominic Smith,
Xander and Noah VanWychen, and Kaydence and Mackenzie Feener. She is also survived
by her sisters Brenda Crouse and Sheryl (Chris) Baker (Crouse), as well as her nephew Jacob
Penney and niece Victoria Penney.
Paula worked at Walmart in Cookville since its opening and took great pride in her work and
the friendships she built there. She held a special place in her heart for all of her grand-animals, especially her past rooster Scooter. She loved her family above all else. She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at South Shore Regional Hospital for their care and support.
In keeping with Paula’s wishes cremation has taken place and a Graveside Service will be held on Saturday August 22 at 2pm at the Dayspring Cemetery.
Donations in her memory may be made SHAID Tree Animal Shelter or a charity of your choice.
Forever in our hearts — her laughter, love, and kindness will never be forgotten.

Dear Paula ,I can’t believe you are really gone ,it has been so sudden.
I always enjoyed working with you in the fashion department at Walmart. You always had lots of stories to tell me about you and your daughters and grandchildren, I am so sorry that you had to leave us all so early in your life.

I worked with Paula the last 5 years at Walmart, she was the kindest and sweetest person and always had that sharp wit about her…I knew I could trust her with my life and I’ll forever miss her, condolences to her entire family and all who were lucky enough to have known her.
I am so very sorry for the family’s loss, her daughters and grandchildren was everything to her and I so very wish we had our coffee date, I am heart broken and flabergasted I considered her to be a great coworker and friend she meant a lot to me and I am so sorry this happened to her.
