Rev. Thomas Aulay Morrison Kerr

With a deep sense of loss the family of Rev. Thomas Aulay Morrison Kerr, 87, of Hackett’s Cove, share the news of his passing on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at the QEII Hospital.
Tom was born in Montreal and was a son of the late John Wesley and Louise Dorothy (Morrison) Kerr. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Patrick, and his stepmother, Nancy Anderson Kerr.
He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-eight years. Aileen; his children, David of Hackett’s Cove, Nancy of Halifax; and his first cousin, Marion Keith of Ontario.
Tom was a retired priest who faithfully served many parishes throughout Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island, including Hatchet Lake, Guysborough/Halfway Cove (Canso), Port Hill, Alberton, and O’Leary,
Rawdon, Berwick (Berwick/Aylesford), Western Shore, Antigonish (Three Harbours), and Tangier. In retirement he continued to serve as Priest-in-Charge and to assist parishes with sacramental ministry as long as he was able to do so.
During his 35 years in the Parish ministry, he was also involved in his community. He enjoyed being part of fire departments (usually radio), working with hospitals and other community concerns, and in Berwick he even had time to be part of the square dance club. He had a wonderful sense of humour and his Irish ancestry often peeked through. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at 11 a.m. at St. Peter’s Church, Hackett’s Cove, Reverend Ron Barkhouse officiating. Eucharist performed by Reverend Randy Townsend, with assistance from Reverend Margie Fagan. Interment to follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery. Reception following. Visiting hours Wednesday May 13, from to 7 to 9 p.m. at St. Peter’s Extension. Arrangements entrusted to

I’m so sorry to hear about Tom. It was an honour to serve on the Archives Committee with him for many years. I also enjoyed visiting you and Tom while I was PIC in Hackett’s Cove. My condolences to you and the family. May he rest in peace and rise in glory,
