Susan Maria Perrault
It is with a sense of peace that the family of Susan Maria Perreault, 85, of Sable River, Nova Scotia, announce her passing at South Shore Regional Hospital in Bridgewater on Saturday, February 1, 2025.
Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, she was a daughter of the late John Baron and Elaine (Peel) Browne.
Susan dedicated her career to teaching in Montreal, where she undoubtedly made a lasting impact on the lives of countless young people. Upon retirement she and Gerald moved to Nova Scotia where they made many enduring friendships over many years.
She will be missed by her sisters, Elizabeth “Buffy” Lance and Patricia Peplinskie, both of Toronto; close friend Angela Page, Liverpool, NS; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Susan was predeceased by her beloved husband Gerald.
In keeping with Susan’s wishes cremation has taken place and there is to be no public memorial service.
On behalf of the family, a very big thank you to all the wonderful staff at South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater, for your love and care of Susan.

On behalf of Coady Institute, I want to express our heartfelt condolences to Susan’s family. Susan was a kind and thoughtful supporter whose warmth and generosity were deeply appreciated. Her quiet concern for making the world a better place was clear in every interaction. She will be greatly missed, and we are truly grateful for the care and support she shared with us.

Susan was a great friend and neighbour to us. She will be remembered for her wonderful generosity and thoughtfulness. A valued member of our community, she will be missed.
I’m so sorry to hear of Susan’s passing.
I just heard that she was in the hospital and sent flowers that sadly did not make it for her to enjoy.
She was so independent that it came as a bit of a shock. We live in the house beside her.
When Susan’s car was out of commission for a month in November, I would call her to see if she needed anything from the store, but she always had a friend who’d already driven her to town. Thankful – but independent.
When my husband was in the hospital last year, she would often call to check in.
I think it’s so lovely that she was able to stay in her beloved home with her sunny kitchen and classic music as long as she could.

Susan was such a wonderful woman. She and Gerald were on the East Ragged Island road as long as I’ve been there. Sympathies go out her family and friends on her loss.
