Suzanne Hilda McLennan
Suzanne Hilda McLennan of Blandford, Nova Scotia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 4. Born on January 19, 1961, in Applewood Acres, Toronto, Suzanne arrived just ahead of her twin brother, Stuart, proudly claiming her place as the fourth of six children in the McLennan family.
Suzanne spent her school years in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, with one year in Mexico where she became fluent in Spanish and first introduced the McLennan family to the Estradas. After earning her Bachelor of Commerce degree from Dalhousie University. She built a successful career in banking, working with the Bank of Nova Scotia before combining her professional expertise with her love of travel.
She spent many years in Sharjah, UAE, and in Doha, Qatar, where she taught banking and finance. And completed master’s degrees in Adult Education and Project Management. She also lived in New Brunswick and Rankin Inlet. In 2017, Suzanne returned to Nova Scotia and settled permanently on her property in Blandford, which she created as her sanctuary.
She will be remembered for her quick wit, intelligence, and fiercely independent spirit. Determined to live life on her own terms, she was able to remain in the home she loved for as long as possible.
Suzanne is survived by her twin brother, Stuart (Susan) McLennan; her siblings Bruce (Lorraine) McLennan, Moira (John) Fraser, Carol (Scott) Farrell, and Barbara Baker; as well as 13 nieces and nephews and seven great-nieces and great-nephews. Also her Mexican brother and sister, Alberto and Adriana.
She was predeceased by her parents, Bruce and Barbara McLennan. Cremation has taken place, with services to be announced. Arrangemetnt entrusted to Personal Care Cremations & Memorial Services.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the SPCA.

So sorry to hear of Suzanne’s passing. I have been remembering so much of our cousin connection both when my family visited the Bruce and Barbara McLennans in Charlottetown early on and after they moved Dartmouth. Dartmouth High School, Dalhousie and New Year’s Eves on Lorne Avenue. Such great memories. RIP Suzie. Heart felt condolences to all of her loved ones.
I am very sorry to hear of Suzanne’s passing. I had the privilege of working with her during her time in Doha. Her commitment to her students and to learning was clear and inspiring. I remember her razor-sharp wit fondly and my life has been richer for having known her. My deepest condolences to her family and dear ones.

Suzanne,had been my neighbour when she and May (her canine companion) and Bonsai (her adopted Bin Cat) and Lulu lived next door to me and my late husband George in her little cabin East Clifford,NS she only lived there from Sept.2005 until Jan.2006 when she,May,Bonsai & Lulu returned to Dubai.. Even though we hadn’t spent much time together we had enjoyed our time together… and we enjoyed our daily walks ..we must have looked funny….2 women,2 dogs and 2 cats Lulu didn’t do the whole trip…and used to wait on a rock on the side of the road. We kept in touch..over the years and she’d come and visit. She was a wonderful friend and both George and I enjoyed everything she brought to our lives. RIP Suzanne

Sad to hear of the passing of Suzanne. We used to enjoy our Thursday evenings in Doha! My condolences to Suzanne’s family.
