Trent Robert Belyea
It is with profound sadness that our family announces the passing of our dearly loved father, husband, son, brother, and friend, Trent Robert Belyea. Trent passed on his 60th birthday, surrounded by his greatest joy—his loving family.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Michelle Belyea (Shelly Hirschfeld); his children, Courtney, Danielle, and Robby Belyea; his father, Robert (Bob) Belyea; his brother, Jon (Cathy) Belyea; his sister, Wendy Belyea; his nieces and nephew, Justice, Kelsey, Emma, Shay-Leigh, and AJ; and his mother-in-law, Melena Pelly. Brittany Bernard and Kinsley also held a special place in his heart as important additions to his family.
Trent was predeceased by his beloved mother, Louise Belyea.
Born in New Brunswick, Trent moved with his family as a child to an acreage near Port Hawkesbury, Nova Scotia. It was there that his love for the outdoors took root—something that remained a central part of his life. Whether it was hunting in the early morning mist, casting a line into a still lake, or simply walking through the woods, nature was his sanctuary. It was a passion he proudly passed down to his children.
Trent lived a life marked by quiet strength, a sharp sense of humor, and unwavering devotion to those he loved. He laughed often and teased even more, always quick with a grin or a clever remark. Too smart for his own good, he had a gift for reading people and situations—his intuition was uncanny. He loved splitting wood, reading, and diving into history books, always curious and always learning.
He cherished the simple things: a strong cup of coffee, the crackle of a campfire, a day in the woods, a meal shared with family. His kids, wife, and dogs were his whole world. He called his dogs “baby” and “sweetheart” just as tenderly as he did his children. He dreamed of one day building a log cabin where his family could live surrounded by nature. Trent was generous to a fault—always slipping his kids candy, change for their piggy banks, or a little extra cash when they needed it.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date, and details will be shared with family and friends. Arrangements entrusted to Personal Care Cremations.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at the QEII Health Sciences Centre for their exceptional care and compassion during Trent’s final days. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Trent’s name to the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS).
