V. Eileen Eisener

EISENER, Vera “Eileen” (McElmon), 89, passed away peacefully at Dykeland Lodge, Windsor, with her family by her side.
Eileen was the eldest of the late Robert & Vera (Busch) McElmon. She is survived by her children, Brian (Ann), Windsor, Darlene (Ray) Jollimore, Bedford, Dawn (Walt) Boudreau, Centreville, Barry (Tracy), Lunenburg – Grandchildren – William (Rachel) Eisener, Cory (Jenny) Eisener, Meagan (Arthur) Osipenko, Christa (Keith) Bowes, Christopher (Melissa) Sweet, Jonathan (Simone) Sweet, Sam (Meghan) Eisener, Jillian Eisener and 14 great grandchildren.
Mom was a wonderful mother and grandmother and loved her family.
She especially loved being a grandmother and would always have time for her grandchildren. Whether it would be babysitting, having them for sailing at their Princes Inlet summer home and teaching crafts, baking and providing sewing lessons. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Eileen enjoyed being a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for more than 60 years. Spending many of these years on City council. She was also a beautiful seamstress, making most of her children’s clothing when younger, wedding dresses, etc. She will also be remembered as an excellent cook and baker. Her delicious sweets and her beautiful pies are truly missed.
She was predeceased by her husband of 66 years Harley, daughter Debbie (Bob) Harris, brother Robert McElmon.
A celebration of life will be held at Woodlawn United Church on Sunday, March 29th at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Kevin Little officiating. Family interment will take place at Second Peninsula Cemetery, Lunenburg County at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Personal Care Cremations & Memorial Services.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Woodlawn United Church or charity of choice.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all the staff at Parkland at the Lakes, 4 West at Dartmouth General Hospital and Dykeland Lodge in Windsor as well as the community care teams for the compassionate care and kindness they showed to mom.

We are sending our condolences to the entire Eisener family! She was a wonderful person, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. Have fond memories of her warm hospitality and delicious scallop casserole! Our thoughts are with you at this difficult time.
My sincere condolences on the passing of Eileen. I got to know her through her food donations to the funeral receptions and always enjoyed our short encounters on Sundays or at the chowder dinners pre-COVID. Her coconut cream pies were a favourite of more people that could get a piece even though she always brought two. After the first time, she (or Harley) stipulated that they were to each have a piece of her pie.
To Eileen’s family, I’m so sorry to hear of her passing. I met her while working at Parkland at the Lakes. She was an amazing puzzle buddy and we shared many great conversations. Sending my condolences.
I haven’t seen your Mom in many years. My memories are those of a little girl playing, with you all, at your house. I remember your Mom as being kind to me. Debbie and I were friends. – an almost cousin.
My condolences to Brian, Darlene, Dawn and Barry, and your families on the loss of your mother. I have many memories of her in Martin’s Brook, often engaged in sewing, baking or a new craft, and truly making your house a home. I’m sure she will be dearly missed!
Praying that the Lord will be with you on the loss of your mother, and that you will find comfort in Him.
To the Eisener Family–My condolence on the passing of your mother, Eileen, who I only got to know in recent years . She and I had wonderful conversations at the church where I often sat beside her. She was a generous and talented woman, always offering me a candy or a cough drop. She dressed so coloufully in clothes she had made herself and wore special earrings Dawn had made for her, appropriate for the day or season. And she stayed young at heart, interested in what was going on in the life of the church and the world. I will certainly miss her. ..

I always assisted Eileen to her seat. Often commenting on a coat she was wearing, or the earings Dawn made. Our last time together she snuck in a kiss to my cheek. I love you Ms Eileen, I’m sure you made a b-line to Harley. Love you back 💚
