Wade Davison

Wade Davison of Brooklyn, NS, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2025, at the age of 33, surrounded by his family after a long journey with chronic kidney disease.
Born on December 13, 1991, Wade was brilliant, witty, stubborn, and deeply loved by those fortunate enough to know him. He held a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Dalhousie University and worked for the past six years at Aqualitas, recently being promoted to Lead Extraction Scientist. His family often thought of him as a law-abiding Walter White.
Wade’s sense of humour will be greatly missed. He had unmatched wit and sarcasm that kept everyone around him on their toes. His sisters fondly recall pranks such as wrapping their Christmas presents in cement or waiting until they were asleep to plastic wrap their bedroom door frame. He had the unique ability to calibrate his wit to land perfectly with whoever he was with.
Wade was highly intelligent. He was the kind of person who could hold a thoughtful conversation on nearly any subject— at times it felt as though he must have read the entire internet. He once claimed, with his signature dry humour, that his greatest academic achievement was passing a chemistry exam for a class he never attended.
He loved games of strategy, whether online or on a board, but it was crib matches with his family that he cherished most. Wade could always be counted on to know the rule book inside and out and rarely let anyone forget it. He also was an avid curler, a sport introduced to him by his uncle, Allan Foster, who coached and encouraged him for many years. Wade went on to compete in tournaments with his team and gave back to the sport as a board member of the Liverpool Curling Club and a dedicated supporter of its junior program.
Wade is survived by his loving parents, Bev and Gail Davison; sisters Brittany Davison (Aaryn Hayes), Jennifer Davison (Lucas Rafuse), and Angela Davison (Justin Crocker); and five nieces and nephews: Rosie Hayes, Abigail Lowe, Elena Lowe, Braydon Osmond, and Blake Osmond. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, colleagues, and friends who cherished his sharp mind and irreverent humour. Wade thoroughly enjoyed family gatherings, and he will be sorely missed at them. And while Wade loved all dogs, it was his cat, Puck, who held a special place in his heart.
Wade faced years of depression and illness with grit and on his own terms. His family takes comfort in knowing that after so long without control, he was finally able to choose how to spend his final days. They extend heartfelt thanks to those who reached out to say goodbye in recent weeks. Please know your messages and support were felt and appreciated.
Cremation has taken place. A private spreading of ashes will be held at a later date, with no formal service.
In lieu of flowers or donations, Wade would want you to make sure the toilet paper roll is facing the right way. You know what he means.

We didn’t know Wade well, but fondly remember him being an integral part in the Junior Curling program.He was a little impish at times, but had such a great sense of humor and was always willing to offer help to the new curlers .
We had no idea he was struggling with health issues, and can only begin to imagine your pain and sadness. Please accept our deepest condolences.

Words fall short at expressing the feelings we have for all of you today. We remember Wade as quite the character in Elementary School. Although we haven’t seen him recently, it is nice to know that his personality remained the same as he grew into the fine young man he was. May you take solace in knowing he is finally at peace and pain free. Although his life was short, he managed to make those around him smile. Thanks, Wade, we’ll never look at a roll of toilet paper the same way again. Be assured it will face the right way. RIP, Wade.

My deepest condolences Bev and family. I worked with Wade the last 6 years at Aqualitas and he was always there for his colleagues to solve some unsolvable science problems, Wade was the Master of Science. It is with deepest sadness to hear that his struggles finally came to an end. My heart is with all of you. Rest in Peace Wade.
