Wayne Russell Arnold

Wayne Russell Arnold, age 76, of Chester, and formerly of Milton, Ontario, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 1, 2025, at South Shore Regional Hospital in Bridgewater. His passing is shared with a deep sense of loss by his beloved family and they wish they could have just “five more minutes”.
Born in Milton to Russell and Jean (Cole) Arnold. He spent over thirty years working in the food industry. He worked his way up as a grocery clerk, to a butcher. Wayne eventually worked his way up, becoming a National Sales Director for P & H Foods (Butterball turkey products). His family loved being his unofficial taste-testers, and Wayne took great pride in bringing home whatever new product he could share.
Wayne loved sports and spending time with his friends sharing wings and a pint. He played hockey, baseball, and curled, but the sport that truly held his heart was golf. Golf was where he relaxed, challenged himself, and connected with others. Some of his happiest days were the golf trips he took with his dad—just the two of them, talking, laughing, and enjoying time together. Those memories stayed with him all his life. In retirement he played even more, making friends on courses near and far and finding real joy in the game.
Community mattered deeply to Wayne. In Milton, he was a dedicated member of the Lions Club and coached Minor Hockey. When he and his wife, Sharon, moved to Nova Scotia, it was a choice made from the heart—they wanted to be close to their granddaughter, Abigail, as she grew up. Being part of her everyday life brought Wayne more joy than he ever imagined. In Chester, he continued giving back through volunteer work with the OHC and Shoreham Village Recreation Department, always happy to help where he could.
Wayne loved to travel, whether it was taking his father to exciting golf and NASCAR, or enjoying warm, sunny trips to Florida and the magical landscapes of Sedona, Arizona, with Sharon. He remained a loyal Toronto Maple Leafs and Blue Jays fan, cheering them on no matter the season.
Wayne leaves behind his devoted wife, Sharon; his step-daughter, Tara (Christian) Maguire of Blockhouse; his cherished granddaughter, Abigail Maguire—truly the light of his life. Nothing made him more proud than getting to say he was her papa. He also leaves behind his brother, Richard (Lynne) Arnold of Milton, Ontario, sister-in-law Shelley (Terry) Wilson of Milton, Ontario, many nephews, a niece and his cousins as well as close family member Heather (John) McNutt, of North Bay, Ontario.
Besides his parents, Wayne was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Gilbert ( Gib) Dowling.
As Wayne wished, cremation has taken place and there will be no public service. Arrangements are in the care of Personal Care Cremations & Memorial Services.
Wayne’s family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Shoreham Village for the kindness and understanding they showed throughout his time there, and to the team at South Shore Regional Hospital, especially Dr. Chaisson, for their steady support during his many visits. Their compassion will always be remembered.
For those who wish to honour Wayne, donations to the Recreation Department of Shoreham Village or the Health Services Foundation of the South Shore would be gratefully appreciated.

I will always remember you Wayne when you’d scare the life out of me as I came around the our house and your deck. Me not expecting to see you there-you’d say: Hello Linda! Then I’d jump. This will never happen again- when I look up to see you bar-b-queing – you won’t be there. But your ever present memory will. When you’ve reached your destination- save a little Adam’s Ale for us! The many times Wayne would make me jump out of my skin when he’d be bar-b-queing the same time I’d come round the corner and he’d say: Hello Linda! Then he’d smile cause he knew he caught me off guard. Rascal! That part of our property will never be the same. Because I’ll look to see him at the bar-b-q but he won’t be there-only his memory! Good Journey onward Wayne – Kenneth and I will always remember you! So! Save some Adam’s Ale for our next encounter!
Wayne, we go back a lot of years.40,,+ years to be exact before Sharon, Tara and Abbey came into your life. It was such a pleasure having you as a friend. Horst and I will treasure all the good memories over the years.
